Mahashivratri!
The name itself carries a powerful aura around it. Translating to “the great night of Lord Shiva”, Mahashivratri is a festival of great significance for Hindus.
Every year, it is celebrated on the 14th night of Magha, which is the 11th month in Hindu calendar. The date roughly coincides with ending of February or beginning of March. The annual festival is celebrated by worshipping Lord Shiva, the god of destruction. On this day, both men and women observe a day-long fast and present offerings to the lord to get his blessings.
The day is also of great significance as it is believed to be charged with powerful cosmic energies that lead to the awakening of the soul. It holds a special place for Indian people as everyone worships ‘Bholenath’ irrespective of their cast. At India Imprints, we love to share the celebration of this cultural festivity with all.
