Indian folk dances are a product of various socio-economic cultures & traditions evolved with time. Nothing portrays the origin, story and flavours of India’s culture better than her dance forms.
Traditionally, done to celebrate a joyous occasion, folk dance soon took the form of art. A plethora of colours, a swirl of graceful movement, khol lashed eyes expressing inaudible emotions, that’s how dancers in India narrate their tale.
Amongst popular folk dances are Dandiya, Bihu, Chholiya, Charu, Dumhal, Fugdi, Dhalo and others. All these swirls of colourful movements each harbour a different pattern, & style, portraying one story or the other.
India Imprints stands in wonder and feels proud to be a part of this glorious art-dance culture of India, that is so talented and rich. These subcontinental dancers are hidden in every city, but we fail to recognise them. This decade, let’s bring out the hidden talents and give them the rightful platform to showcase India’s story best.
