Diwali – the festival of prosperity!
Deepavali – the word in itself means a row or series of lights. While this festival is celebrated in different Indian regions with varying rituals and festivities, the spirit of ecstasy remains the same everywhere.
It is originally a five-day celebration that starts with Dhanteras and ends with Bhai dooj, with the main festivities falling on the 18th day after Dussehra called Diwali.
This festival holds significance of bringing a soul to enlightenment, making everyone more prosperous, along with the worship of Goddess Lakshmi, the deity for material prosperity. It aims to release atman, the transcendental energy, from darkness to light.
It is an ancient festival that brings light to our lives. We can find this festival’s reference in many Puranas and religious scriptures of Hindus, thus establishing its historical significance. We take pride in preserving the tradition through these festive celebrations.
